Lambs on their summer pasture

Sheep

Sheep have been the heart of our farm since before I was born. I grew up looking forward to our lambing season and hoping for a bottle baby to feed. Still today they have a special place in my heart as my personal favourite animal on the barn (but don’t tell the others)

Cows

Charlotte and Olivia our highland coo’s started our herd back in 2012 and remain the matriarchs today. Each cow in our herd is a descendant from one or they other and they have the cows have the special honor of being some of the only named livestock on the farm. Charlotte, Olivia, Caroline, Meredith, Edith and Sybil as our current resident cows.

One of my favourites we have had come live on our farm over the years

Donkey

Donkey, donkey, donkey. Donkey is the first (and likely the only) donkey this farm has ever seen. She is full of personality and loves her snuggles but will absolutely bite you at any opportunity. I bought donkey as my first livestock purchase in 2018 at just one year old (and they can live 30 years) so she will be here a while.

CATS

The cats are part of our Feral to Friendly program on this farm. Feral cats roam Ontario and when they find a farm that feeds them they make a home. We have about 20 cats that call our farm home and all are now fixed and have a safe place to live out their days.
